ME: Enhydra and ObjectWeb

Hi all!

I think the idea of ObjectWeb is very good. This is
comparable with the Apache group.

I like enhydra and use it a lot. In my opinion it
would be great if Enhydra.org and all of its
components (xmlc, barracuda, eaf, etc.) could be
integrated within the ObjectWeb group. "Integration"
is the key factor in this area...

These are my opininions:
- Integrate all of Enhydra components within
ObjectWeb,
and please don´t just let them like the situation
now
in Enhydra.org. As a good example is the Apache
group. Some categories like Presentation Layer,
Business Layer, Data Layer and Integration Layer
could be used for categorizing ObjectWeb projects...
- To be able to integrate all of the components,
ObjectWeb has to use the same license within all
its components. JOnAS move to LGPL could be the
  answer.
- All the components have to be stand-alone, so each
components can be developed separately. This makes
also easier if someone only wants to use one of the
  components.
- As a long term ObjectWeb should release an
application server, which integrates all the
available components! Again, only an integration
and all components must be developed seperately!

In this case I see a very big advantage of the
"ObjectWeb Application Server". ObjectWeb should not
call this application server JOnAS but "ObjectWeb
Application Server" because this is more than JOnAS
itself. This application server will be "the one and
only", which directly supports all the Enhydra.org
components (xmlc, barracuda, eaf, dods, etc.). It also
directly supports J2ME application server!

As a starting point, we can use the service
architecture, which is based on JMX. So, ObjectWeb
Application Server can bind all these services...

can you imagine, how cool this is, if you can just
easily bind eaf, xmlc or barracuda, or kxml (like what
JOnAS 2.4.4 has done now with jms, tomcat-servlet, tm,
...).

Okay, this is only my opinion ;-)
